Chicago high-rise fire mayday. Firefighter ‘very critical’ a day after LODD

A day after the line-of-duty-death of Chicago Fire Department Firefighter Jermaine Pelt the department is dealing with a firefighter critically injured in a high-rise fire on North Lake Shore Drive. The official CFD Twitter feed describes the firefighter as “very critical” (see below). Further below is the chronology of info from CFD.

Two Chicago firefighters were injured battling a blaze at a high-rise building in the city’s Gold Coast Wednesday morning.

The fire sparked just before 7:30 a.m. on the 27th floor of a building in the 1200 block of north Lake Shore Drive, according to fire officials.
