Kentucky Chief Indicted for Stealing from VFD

A Kentucky fire chief has been indicted for stealing from the fire department. David G. Douglas Jr., the fire chief for Barlow Rural Fire Department, was indicted by a Ballard County grand Jury on a single count of theft by unlawful taking greater than $10,000.

According to the indictment, Chief Douglas used fire department funds to pay for his personal phone bill and wrote checks payable to himself. The checks were drafted on the Barlow Rural Fire Department Account between July 11, 2019, through Feb. 24, 2021.
