An Amazon worker saved several lives when he alerted a family to a fire in their Syosset home Saturday.
The driver, Kevin Rivera, saw fire engulfing the front porch when he jumped into action. Inside the Bluebird Drive home were five people, including a baby.
“My heart, it was just going crazy because I saw the baby and I saw the people and I didn’t want them to die either,” Rivera told News 12. “So, I just rushed in putting my life at risk.”
Chief 5802 found heavy fire engulfing the home when he arrived, calling a working fire.
Two hoselines were stretched from the first-due engine and Tower Ladder 582’s master stream was used to knock down the bulk of the fire.
